Cybersecurity of Autonomous Vehicles

The research project on cybersecurtiy is dedicated to real-time encryption of feedback control and sensory signals. This includes cryptology, i.e., the practice and study of techniques for secure communication in the presence of adversarial behavior, using stream-chiper algorithms, synchronization, and authentication methods. The goal is resilence against navigation spoofing and hijacking of unmanned autonomous vehicles.

A cryptographic toolbox for feedback control systems containing C-style C++ implementations of the cryptographical algorithms has been made available as a GitHub repository:

https://github.com/pettsol/CryptoToolbox

All implementations have been verified by official test vectors, and are provided as-is. The toolbox is described in detail in https://www.mic-journal.no/ABS/MIC-2020-4-3.asp/
